Details: This was the first show I felt truly comfortable with. With ample time to prepare, a good number of listeners and a bunch of requests, this show made me feel very good about the future of The Hot Spot. From about the halfway point on, most of the tunes are listener requests. This show's theme was National Coming Out Day, which fell exactly on the date of the show. NCOD is all about people of what most would consider "alternative lifestyles" making themselves known to those around them. Only by making ourselves visible can members of the LGBTTTIA (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, transsexual, transvestite, intersexed and allied) community combat the prejudices that we all face on a daily basis. Starting with a song about coming out, and closing with a song about recognizing change in oneself, this show was an effort at being an uplifting experience for all who tuned in.
